Sometimes we wanted to feel like a rebel and nab a box of Fags (now renamed Fads) or a Big Boss cigar, eating every last sickly-sweet bit, including the glue from the gold wrapper.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThere were Musk Sticks and Fruit Sticks in bundles, sherbet lollipops that left your tongue bumpy from the tang, and Sherbet Straws. Sometimes they’d pop open at first bite, letting you pour the sherbet straight onto your tongue. Other times, it was a battle of teeth and plastic stretching to get to the good stuff.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAnd the milk bar was about more than lollies. It was where you’d meet your mates, grab an ice cream, flick through the comics and spend your hard-earned pocket money on whatever took your fancy.
