Kingsville - Fisher Cricket Bat Shop Suburban Icon Poster

Along Williamstown Road in Kingsville, an old shopfront still carries a wonderful piece of local cricket history. Painted across its weathered side wall is the vintage Fisher Bat advertisement, proudly declaring, “YOU CAN’T DO BETTER THAN A FISHER BAT!”

The story behind the mural belongs to Lachlan Fisher, a skilled cricket bat maker who opened his hand-crafted bat shop in Kingsville in the mid-1990s. Over his career, Fisher made more than 12,000 cricket bats, each one individually crafted with the care and precision that goes into a proper piece of cricket equipment.

Eventually, rising costs and the lure of more affordable housing and open space prompted Fisher to move his business to country Victoria, where he continues to make custom cricket bats.

The Kingsville shop may have changed hands, but the Fisher Bat mural and original door sign remain, preserving a little piece of the suburb’s past and a reminder of when cricket bats were made by hand rather than churned out by the thousands.

This Suburban Icons print celebrates a wonderfully ordinary piece of Melbourne history: a local cricket bat maker, his craft, and the old shopfront that still carries his name.

All orders are dispatched within 3–5 business days via Australia Post with full tracking.

A4 and A3 prints are sent flat in a rigid box mailer. A2 and A1 prints are rolled in protective paper and dispatched in a heavy-duty postal tube.

You'll receive an order confirmation email when your purchase is complete, followed by a tracking notification once your order is lodged with Australia Post.

Delivery times vary depending on your location. Once an order has been dispatched with a tracking number it cannot be redirected, cancelled or refunded due to delays outside our control.

If your order arrives damaged or is confirmed lost in transit by Australia Post, we will lodge an insurance claim and arrange a replacement. Just get in touch and we'll sort it out.

Please note our responsibility ends once Australia Post confirms successful delivery. We are unable to replace items that are lost, stolen or misplaced after delivery has been completed and photographically confirmed by the carrier.

We want you to love your artwork. As every poster is printed to order, our policy varies by size.

Damaged in transit — contact us within 48 hours of delivery with photos of the damage and packaging. We'll arrange a replacement immediately at no cost.

Change of mind — A4 & A3 — we're happy to offer an exchange or store credit within 14 days of delivery. Print must be returned in original sealed packaging. Return shipping is at your expense.

Change of mind — A2 & A1 — we don't accept returns or exchanges on large format prints. Please measure your space carefully before ordering.

Cancellations — contact us within 24 hours of placing your order. If printing has already begun we may not be able to cancel.
