The 12 Apostles, Great Ocean Road, Victoria Suburban Icon Poster

When you want to head out of the big smoke, there’s a route as famous as it is twisty: the Great Ocean Road. 242 kilometres of Victoria’s scenic coastline, with a history as epic as the views.

Opened in 1932, it was built by more than 3,000 returned servicemen! Yep, the Great Ocean Road is Australia’s grandest war memorial. It’s also full of tales of shipwrecks and surfing legends. With around 700 ships lurking beneath the waves, the Shipwreck Coast is as much a dive into history as it is a literal dive for adventurers.

It’s also a journey through time, winding through 150-million-year-old landscapes and past dinosaur fossil sites. Because in Australia, even a T-Rex couldn’t resist a good day at the beach. And then, of course, there’s the Twelve Apostles, towering stacks of limestone rock standing against the surf. Well, it’s more like the Eight Apostles now, but eight is great, mate!

So, pick up one of these grouse prints from Vintage Suburban Icons, grab your mates or the kiddos, hit the road and make some memories on a trip to the Twelve Apostles, where the journey is just as unforgettable as the destination.
